Our willow salve is made from the bark of pacific willow trees, harvested in the early spring when the bark is green and the sap is flowing.
Willow bark contains salicin, which the body converts to salicylic acid (the main compound in aspirin). Salicin has proven anti-inflammatory properties and has been used medicinally by humans since biblical times.
Uses:
-Salicylates in willow bark are known to have pain-relieving and anti-inflammatory properties.
-Willow bark may help manage discomfort associated with arthritis and back and neck pain.
-It’s antibacterial properties may help soothe minor skin irritations, cuts, burns, eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, and rashes.
-May relieve itching and irritation from bug bites or sunburn.
-May aid in sleep when applied to the soles of feet at bedtime.
